VISSLA COSMIC CREEK 2019
Visslaは、第21回コスミック・クリーク・サーフ・フェスティバルを開催します。
コスミック・クリークは、カリフォルニア州ダナポイントのソルトクリークビーチで、6月1日と2日に開催されるレトロなスタイルのサーフィン体験イベントです。1970年代のオルタナティブで模索している時代の雰囲気をお楽しみください。サーフボードがショップの中心だった時代、シェイパー達が互いに腕を競い合った時代、そしてサーフィンに神秘的な魂があった時代です。
このイベントでは、5つの部門が用意されています。ローカル、クリエイター＆イノベーター、プロ、レディースに加え、DaFiNが提供するボディ・サーフ・エクスプレッション・セッションも開催されます。 プロとローカルの参加者は、ビーチマーシャルのラルフィーと水辺に集合し、ヒートの前にカードを引いた結果で、優先的にボードを選ぶことができます。Visslaは70年代、80年代のシングルフィン、ツインフィンを用意していますので、どのボードで戦うかは運次第です。クリエイター＆イノベーター部門は、サンクレメンテからベンチュラまでの地元のシェイパーで構成されており、近日中に発表される予定です。
ローカルやプロがオリジナルのサーフボードに乗るのに対し、クリエーター＆イノベーターは、70年代や80年代の時代にインスパイアされて自分で作ったサーフボードで競技に参加します。
2年連続で、移動式のシェイピングベイが砂の上に設置され、シェイパーが最初から最後までボードを作る作業を見学・体験する事が出来ます。 また、Vissla x Jason Woodside Cortex Cruiser Mercedesも展示され、このコスミック‘でカラフルな車のプレゼントに応募することができます。
土曜日の夜は、D'Blancがソルトクリーク・ブラフ・パーク・ステージで無料コンサートを開催し、The Babe Rainbow、Holy Wave、The Soul Beaconsがライブを行います。土日の日中は、Seacliff、The Alive、Parleaがビーチステージで曲を提供します。このイベントでは地元のベンダーにも協力いただき、The Shwackによる朝食とランチ、ローカルに人気のBear Coast Coffeeが朝の飲み物を提供します。尚、コスミック・クリークでは、プラスティックフリーのイベント開催なので、自前の水筒をお持ち下さい。
コスミック・ジャージーはどなたでも参加できるパブリックイベントで、レジェンド、グロム(子供サーファー)、クラフツマン、ストーリーテラーの真の集まりです。このイベントは、魂のこもった、多彩なサーファー達の集まりであり、伝統を祝い、サーフボードや音楽、芸術についてのアイデアを交換するプラットフォームとなっています。
Vissla is pleased to announce the 21st Annual Cosmic Creek surf festival!
The Cosmic Creek is a retro-style surf experience paying homage to an earlier era on June 1st and 2nd at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point, California. Come enjoy a journey back to the alternative, more experimental time of the 1970’s. A place where surfboards ruled the shops, when shapers were gurus, and surfing had a mystical soul about it.
The event will feature five divisions: Locals, Creators & Innovators, Pros, Womens and a Body Surf Expression Session brought to you by DaFiN. The Pros and local entrants will meet at the waters edge with Beach Marshal Ralphie and “draw cards” prior to their heat for priority on the board selection. It truly comes down to the luck of the draw as to which board you will surf in your heat as Vissla will supply original 70’s and 80’s Single and Twin fin options for competitors to choose from. The Creators & Innovators division consists of local shapers from San Clemente to Ventura to be announced soon. While the local entrants and Pros will ride original craft, the Creators & Innovators will ride a craft they shaped themselves inspired by the 70’s and 80’s time period. For the second year in a row our mobile shaping bay will be down on the sand where some of the best shapers will be building a board from start to finish for everyone to watch and experience. Also present will be the Vissla x Jason Woodside Cortex Cruiser Mercedes with an opportunity to enter to win the cosmic, colorful machine.
Saturday night, D’Blanc will be hosting a free concert at the Salt Creek Bluff Park Stage with live music by The Babe Rainbow, Holy Wave and The Soul Beacons. Seacliff, The Alive and Parlea will be providing the tunes on the Beach Stage during the day on Saturday and Sunday.Local vendors will provide provisions at the event, which include breakfast and lunch by The Shwack and morning caffeine jitters by local favorites, Bear Coast Coffee. Cosmic Creek will be a plastic-free event –– we ask that you bring your reusable water bottles to refill at our water stations!
Cosmic Creek is open to the public and a true gathering of legends, groms, craftsmen and storytellers. It has become a soulful, grassroots, eclectic surf gathering; a celebration of heritage; a platform to swap ideas about surfboards, music and art.
